Jorden van Foreest is a Dutch grandmaster, born in Utrecht in 1999. He learned chess from his father at the age of six and began playing seriously at nine. He won the European Under-14 Championship in 2013 and was awarded the grandmaster title in 2016. After graduating from the Topsport Talent School in 2018, he became a professional player. His brother Lucas is also a grandmaster.

Van Foreest won the Dutch Championship in 2016 and again in 2025. His biggest tournament victory came at the Tata Steel Masters in Wijk aan Zee in 2021. His great-great-grandfather Arnold van Foreest won the Dutch Championship three times in the late 19th century, and his sister Machteld is also a Dutch women's champion.
