Wesley So is a chess grandmaster born on 9 October 1993 in Bacoor, Philippines, who represents the United States. He earned the grandmaster title in 2008 at the age of 14. His highest FIDE standard rating, 2822, was first reached on the February 2017 list, shortly after his victory at the Tata Steel Masters.

So won the Grand Chess Tour in 2016 and was part of the US team that won the 2016 Chess Olympiad. He became the first FIDE World Fischer Random Chess Champion in 2019, won the US Championship in 2017, 2020 and 2021, and won the Sinquefield Cup in 2016, 2025 and 2026, becoming the first player to win the event three times.
