Caissa's Web
Next
One of the most exciting things about becoming a member
is Caissa's Web, the most active and dynamic community of chess players anywhere on the World Wide
Web.
In addition to extensive chess resources such as games databases, tutorials, and
biographies, Caissa's Web offers the most powerful and easy to use chess-playing
engine on the Internet. You can play live, real-time games against other members from
all over the world, or just play against the resident computer. If you're not in the mood
for a live game, you can head over to the chat rooms, sign up for correspondence games,
learn what one of those special words mean in the Chess Encyclopedia, or get up to date on
what's going on in the Community Bulletin Boards. Whether you are a beginning chess player
or an International Grandmaster, Caissa offers something for everyone.
If you have always wanted to learn about chess, or wanted to get your children or
family interested in chess, then the Caissa community is the place for you. Caissa's
Web is a constantly monitored, safe environment to learn about chess, make friends, and
participate in many of the regularly scheduled activities. Some of its outstanding
features and benefits include:
- No Software to Download - If you have a standard web browser (like Netscape
Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer) and an Internet connection, then you can use
Caissa's Web. Caissa's Web is designed on open technological standards, unlike other chess
servers which use proprietary chess "clients" that must be downloaded and
installed.
- Easy to Use - Unlike other chess servers that require you to learn cryptic text
commands, Caissa's interface is fully point-and-click.
Customizable, graphical toolbars on each page allow you to quickly jump from one area of
Caissa to another.
- Safe, Secure Environment - Although freedom of expression is a fundamental part
of the Caissa philosophy, respect and consideration for other members is of the highest
priority and will not be compromised. Site Administrators are easily contacted through the
Message Center or through e-mail to address any problems that may arise. Any violations of
Caissa community standards and rules of netiquette are dealt with immediately.
- Accessible to Everyone - You don't need the fastest modem or most expensive
computer to access Caissa. In fact you don't even need your own Internet connection!
Because Caissa is designed using open technological standards, she can be accessed from
any web browser and Internet connection (we recommend at least a 28.8Kbps connection with
the Netscape or Microsoft browser for the best performance). This includes your home
computer, the computer at work, a terminal in your public library, or even a friend's
computer.
